“We have a moral obligation to help the homeless. But we are not obligated to cede our downtowns, our tourist attractions, and our residential neighborhoods to homeless encampments. And as a society, we also have a moral obligation to protect the general population from rampant infectious diseases.”

In 2019, the number of homeless deaths in the San Diego region were 165 persons.  In 2022, homeless deaths jumped to 574 persons — a shocking 250% increase in just three years.  This is not just a crisis, this is a HUMANITARIAN CATASTROPHE.  And, yet, neither our elected officials nor our local media say a word about these 574 victims — why not?
